In ERIC today, Year 2 Toucans explored poetry. Miss Williams read us a very funny poem about bedbugs to start with! She then made a book blanket of lots of different poetry books. We chose one to enjoy with our friends and read some poems together.

At the end, we discussed with our friend which one we enjoyed the most and put a post-it note on the page. Next time we can explore poems other children have enjoyed and see if we like them too!

As part of Year 1’s ERIC this week the Puffins have been exploring different features of traditional tales. They have done paired reading, listening to their teacher read in small groups and independent reading. The children have really enjoyed choosing their own traditional tales.
